Queen Camila is set to make her return to public engagements this week as members of the Royal Family resume their duties following their summer break. On Thursday, the Queen will visit RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire where she serves as Honorary Air Commodore. At the RAF base, Camila will greet air force personnel and their families and be given a tour of some of the cutting-edge military hardware.

As part of her visit, the Queen will meet with members of 11 Squadron who train British and Qatari pilots on Hawk jets. She will also learn about the important work being done in the areas of cyber defense and counter-uncrewed air systems from experts at 90 Signals Unit. However, not everything at RAF Leeming revolves around high-tech equipment. Camila will tour the base's wellness area which includes bee hives, chicken coops, greenhouses and allotment plots. This space has been developed to support the mental health and well-being of staff and their families.

The Queen will get to see the wellness area in action, meeting members of the polytunnel committee and children from the RAF kids' nursery. She will also speak to those who care for the rare breed chickens and beehives. Camila's visit concludes with a reception for personnel enjoying the wellness facilities and a flypast display by Hawk jets. This won't be the Queen's first visit to RAF Leeming - she has made multiple trips in both ceremonial and unofficial capacities over the years.

Later in the week, Camila has two more public engagements scheduled in Bath. On Tuesday, she will officially open the new £10 million Dyson Cancer Center at the Royal United Hospital. During her visit, the Queen will meet patients, medical staff, trust managers and supporters of the new facility. She praised the center, saying it "really lifts people's spirits in extremely terrible times."

This engagement comes just seven months after King Charles underwent surgery to treat an enlarged prostate and was later diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer. When asked about her husband's health by a nurse during the visit, the Queen said Charles is "doing quite well" but acknowledged that "men won't confess it." Her comments provide reassurance that the King is recovering following his diagnosis earlier this year.

On Wednesday, Camila will travel to nearby Lok to formally open a new organic farming facility at StonEaston Farm. The £18 million state-of-the-art egg production plant replaces outdated facilities and allows the farm to continue supplying over 18 million eggs per week to UK supermarkets. Both the Queen and King Charles are passionate about conservation and organic farming, so this visit underscores those interests.

Camila will tour primary production areas and meet some long-serving employees during her visit. As joint Royal president of conservation charity Elephant Family, the Queen will also view an exhibition of painted Easter eggs created to support the organization's fundraising. It's a busy schedule for Camila in her first week back in public following the Royal Family's summer at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Her visits this week emphasize issues close to the hearts of both herself and the King. By opening cancer centers and organic farms, Camila is highlighting their support for healthcare, rural communities, conservation and sustainability. She also provided reassurance about Charles' recovery from cancer through her comments at the Dyson Center. It marks a positive return to duties for the Queen as the Royal Family transitions into a new phase following the summer recess.
