PRINCE WILLIAM AND HIS FRIENDS LAUNCH VICIOUS ATTACK ON PRINCE HARRY

Prince William's friends are coming for Harry and it's not looking good. This whole situation seems very shady and it looks like the games have begun.

It was just another day reviewing the latest royal news when I came across a troubling report. Tom Sykes of The Daily Beast was sharing that a friend of Prince William had spoken out, urging Prince Harry to publicly apologize for allegedly taking cocaine years ago before his trip to Colombia this week. According to the report, William's friend said that Harry's visit to Colombia "must include an admission that the country has been destroyed by narco-terrorists serving wealthy drug users in the west and he should stand up and apologize for his own participation in that disgusting trade."

I have to say, I was completely taken aback by this. It seems insanely vindictive and like a thinly veiled threat for William's friends to be pushing this message now. Colombia has made tremendous strides beyond the drug problems of the past and to reduce them only to that is unfair and stereotypical. Further, many people experiment with drugs in their youth without becoming addicted or directly fueling dangerous cartels. Demanding an apology now just comes across as trying to sabotage Harry and Meghan's trip.

It's also notable that William approved this message from his friends. He clearly wants to intimidate Harry during this key visit. But if we're talking about apologies, maybe William should be the one apologizing. What about all the times he failed to publicly support his wife Kate? The reports of him selling stories to the press? His lack of action on issues like homelessness and climate change? And let's not forget the rumors of his alleged infidelities over the years. If anyone needs to issue apologies and have their behavior scrutinized by friends, it seems it should be William, not Harry.

The timing of William's friends pushing this cocaine apology narrative is just too convenient. Harry and Meghan are set to embark on their second major international tour since stepping back as senior working royals. Their visit to Nigeria was massively successful last year and received huge attention. Now they're headed to Colombia, which is sure to also be a viral hit given all the important work they plan to do there around issues like online safety for children.

With success of this magnitude, it's no wonder William feels threatened. Anytime Harry and Meghan have more buzz and positive publicity than William and Kate, it clearly gets under his skin. Just look at how pleased he reportedly was that they skipped the recent Olympics. The royals have always been competitive and insecure in how they compare to one another. So demanding this apology from Harry right before Colombia is nothing but a weak sabotage attempt in my view.

William needs to get his own house in order before criticizing others. His and Kate's recent tours overseas have been plagued by problems and harsh local criticism at times. But Harry and Meghan seem to have a golden touch in this area. Their impactful work always overshadows whatever boring photocall duties William performs. They're simply more modern and in touch with the issues people care about. This threatens William's fragile ego to no end.

Rather than lashing out at Harry through friends, maybe William would be better served focusing on improving himself. Do some self-care like going to the gym or getting a new hairstyle. Address his own past behavior instead of dwelling on past mistakes of others. And try being proud of Harry's accomplishments instead of constantly intimidated. The fact he's still pushing these absurd stories shows just how "pressed" he remains about Harry's popularity and independence.

In the end, all this drama does is prove what we've known for some time - Harry and Meghan living their truths freely is the biggest threat to the outdated royal institution. William still doesn't get it. But the jig is up and people see straight through these desperate smear attempts. I can't wait to see how impactful Harry and Meghan's trip to Colombia will be this week despite all the haters. And I'm sure wherever they go after that will also be a massive success. The future is bright for our progressive Sussex heroes.
