Rumors have been circulating for some time that all is not well between Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle. Now, reports are emerging that Harry may be having serious regrets about marrying the American actress and may want to return to life in the UK without her.
Multiple sources say that Harry is growing increasingly bored with married life in California and misses his old life and friends back home in England. According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Harry never sees his old army and childhood friends anymore because they refuse to visit him in the US due to tensions with Meghan. Quinn claims Harry's friends see Meghan as "difficult" and blame her for changing Harry's personality.

This echoes previous reports from years ago when Meghan was referred to in the press as the "Duchess Difficult" due to alleged conflicts with staff members and her supposed demanding behavior. If Harry's friends also see Meghan in this negative light, it provides some context for why they are reluctant to spend time with the couple in America.
Harry does seem to be missing his connections to friends and family in the UK. His last visit back to Britain was in June for the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue, but according reports, Harry had no plans to meet up with old friends then because he does not want to revisit his former life. However, if he is now looking back across the pond with nostalgia and regret, it shows perhaps that honeymoon phase of life in the US has worn off for Harry.

There also seems to be tensions caused by Meghan's perceived control over Harry and attempts to change who he is. While it's unfair to blame Meghan alone, the couple do seem to bring out negative aspects in one another that are straining Harry's other relationships.
The difficulties between Harry, Meghan and the prince's old friends provide further evidence that all has not been well in the Sussex marriage. Back in 2021, reports surfaced that Harry had a "panic room" reserved for him at a luxury resort in case he needed to escape family life with Meghan and their children at their California mansion. While a spokesperson denied this, the resort in question has extremely strict privacy rules, so the real circumstances could have easily been hidden.

Now new reports say Harry has told aides he wants to find a permanent home base for himself in London, apart from just relying on hotels during visits. He is said to be pursuing legal action over UK security issues partly due to this goal of a London property. Significantly, sources suggest any comeback by Harry to Britain would be without Meghan by his side.
Prominent royal author Hugo Vickers has outright predicted that Harry and Meghan's marriage will not last and that Harry will one day return home to England alone, with his "tail between his legs." While time will tell if this dire prediction proves true, the mounting signs do point to Harry seriously questioning his life decisions where Meghan is concerned.
