It has been widely reported that Prince Harry has grown increasingly frustrated with how the British tabloids have invaded his privacy and spread misinformation about both him and his wife Meghan Markle. In a new tell-all interview, he is speaking out like never before about these media attacks and the role they played in damaging his relationship with the royal family.

While promoting an upcoming documentary about his ongoing legal battle with several British newspapers, Harry pulled no punches in criticizing the lack of support he felt from his relatives. When asked if taking a firm public stance against the tabloids fractured things with his father, brother, and other family members, Harry responded bluntly "yes, that's actually a central piece to it." He acknowledged things have been "strained" with his father King Charles.

His rift with Prince William in particular grew deeper after Harry and Meghan stepped away from their royal duties and moved to California. Harry alleged that William accepted a secret financial settlement from Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation over phone hacking claims in 2020, which prevented Harry from pursuing his own legal case sooner. Harry suggested his brother's actions showed favoritism towards the media moguls who own many of the tabloids.

In one of the most explosive claims, Harry said he disagreed completely with William's previous assertion that their late mother Princess Diana was "paranoid" about press intrusion near the end of her life. "She wasn't paranoid, she was absolutely right to be worried about what was happening," Harry emphatically stated. "She wasn't around to find out the truth." Harry believes Diana was a victim of phone hacking and covert surveillance by tabloid journalists, um she wasn't paranoid um she was absolutely right of what was happening to her and her fears were entirely justified.

The Duke of Sussex went on to say it would have meant a lot if the rest of the royal family had supported his decision to wage legal warfare on the tabloids through multiple court cases and complaints to regulators. But they refused to do so, which clearly still upsets Harry greatly. "I made it very clear that there is something that needs to be done. It would have been nice if we did it as a family," he remarked.

When asked about their choice not to support his campaign, Harry simply replied "I think everything that's played out has shown people what the truth of the matter is." He believes Diana would have backed him up wholeheartedly in his mission to rein in the excesses of the British tabloid press. "She's not around today to find out the truth."

One example Harry gave of intrusive press behavior involved reporting on a old girlfriend before he even knew the relationship had ended. "I'm looking at a headline from when I dated Chelsy Davy - 'Harry's girl to dump him,'" he recalled. "It seemed like they knew something before I even did." Stories like that showed him from a young age just how little privacy he had and it left him questioning what else the tabloids knew through potentially illegal means.

Harry's new interviews and revelations come amid his ongoing court action against Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, and MailOnline. He alleges "unlawful information gathering" by journalists and private investigators working for the newspapers, though the company denies any illegal activity. Regardless, the Duke made clear he has no plans to stop publicly campaigning on this issue, even if it continues to take a personal toll.

"The mission continues but yes, it is a rift from the family," Harry acknowledged. When asked if he has spoken to his brother William about any of this, Harry said "not much to say any more" and offered no further details on if or when they may reconcile. For now, the once-close siblings remain estranged as Harry asserts his independence and fights battles their mother likely would have supported, um but she wasn't paranoid um she was absolutely right of what was happening to her, had she been alive to do so herself.

The full interview is scheduled to air later this week and is sure to generate widespread conversation across the U.K. and beyond. Harry seems intent on openly airing his frustrations and grievances, perhaps hoping public pressure might change royal attitudes. Only time will tell if his speak-out strategies repair any family bonds or further fracture them. But what is clear is that Harry refuses to remain silent about defending his wife and speaking out against practices that reportedly even drove his beloved mother to her tragic end.
