Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has come under fire for her reported 'rude' and 'awful' behavior during her current tour of Nigeria with Prince Harry. The criticism comes from royal biographer Angela Levin, who spoke to GB News about the Duchess's interactions and choice of attire.
According to Express, Levin took issue with Meghan's virtually backless, blush silk dress during a visit to the Lightway Academy college in Abuja on Friday. "If you go to a school, a very quiet school that is a religious one, you don't go with a dress that's absolutely no backing to it at all," she commented.

However, Levin's more serious allegation involved a specific incident where Meghan appeared disinterested and impolite. "She was very rude, because one of the teachers was talking to her and there were two girls there joining in politely," Levin recounted.
"She obviously was bored. She looked up in the air, looked around, she then sort of pulled Harry, as she usually does, because she was bored with it. She wanted someone who could then take nice pictures of her and Harry, and you think, my goodness, where are your manners?"
When host Nana Akua suggested Meghan might argue she was simply being herself, Levin firmly disagreed, saying such behavior is unacceptable.

The royal biographer also revealed that many involved with the Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry, feel it has become the "Meghan Markle show" despite her absence from the recent UK event. "Lots of the people from the Invictus Games have said to me it's now become just a Meghan Markle show. It's about presenting her. And I think it's a big shame," Levin stated.
Regarding King Charles III not meeting Harry during his London trip, Levin said Buckingham Palace does not recall any request from the Duke. She speculated the King may have wished to avoid potential confrontation given his busy schedule.
The Sussexes' ongoing three-day Nigeria tour has been dubbed a "royal tour on their terms" by some. While focusing on causes like women's empowerment and mental health, critics argue it is an attempt to establish themselves as "alternative royals."

On arrival in Lagos, the couple was welcomed with traditional dances, with Meghan paying homage in a gifted Nigerian skirt. Their itinerary includes cultural events, a fundraiser, and school visits related to the Invictus Games.
The tour holds personal significance for Meghan, who discovered her Nigerian ancestry through genealogy testing a few years ago, as reported by Vogue. Her fashion choices, like relaxed American Riviera styles coordinated with Harry, have conveyed a distinct message.
While some Nigerians have welcomed the Sussexes warmly, others, like royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, remain skeptical of their motives behind this "alternative royal tour" without the constraints of representing the Crown.

As the couple continues their Nigeria endeavors amidst the controversy over Meghan's alleged rude behavior, scrutiny remains on how their post-royal global efforts will be received. The accusations have undoubtedly cast a shadow over their attempt to forge a new path independent of Buckingham Palace.
