UK PRESS BACK TRACK ON PRINCE HARRY - PATHETIC AND EMBARASSING

Today I wanted to discuss the recent activities of the UK press and how they have seemingly done a complete 180 on their coverage of Prince Harry. Just a few short days ago, numerous UK outlets ran exclusives claiming Prince Harry vehemently wanted to return to Britain. These stories cited mysterious unnamed “former aides” as their sources.

However, as of today, it appears all of these same outlets have changed their tune entirely. Now they are reporting that Prince Harry has no plans to come back to the UK. This sudden reversal in their narratives is quite telling. It suggests the stories just a few days prior, insisting Harry wanted to return, were complete fabrications without any real evidence or legitimacy.

To me, the way the press has flip-flopped so dramatically inadvertently exposes them for the hypocritical and untrustworthy entities that they are. For years now, Harry and Meghan have accused segments of the UK media of propagating lies and unfairly targeting them. Incidents like this latest 180-degree turn only validate those claims of dishonesty and poor journalism.

It makes one question where these initial “exclusives” even came from in the first place if they turned out to be so plainly incorrect. Were anonymous sources truly involved or was this just made up to fit a certain narrative? My suspicion is that someone high up was behind orchestrating this coordinated PR attack on Harry through select outlets. While I cannot say definitively, I suspect Prince William may have had a hand in engineering these fabricated stories.

We know William has close friends who regularly feed stories to outlets like the Daily Beast. Conveniently, just hours after the UK press backtracked on Harry wanting to return, a new piece aired more criticisms of Harry from anonymous “William allies.” It creates an obvious pattern of William using his circle to anonymously disparage Harry to sympathetic journalists.

I would not be surprised if, angered by Harry appearing to upstage him at Prince Philip’s funeral, William attempted to strike back by planting the “Harry wants to return” narrative. But when Harry and his team likely issued legal threats over the obvious lies, the press quickly changed course to avoid potential lawsuits. It follows a now predictable playbook of William using proxies to attack Harry from the shadows.

While entertaining to see the British tabloids so embarrassingly admit defeat through their retractions, the situation also highlights serious issues with sections of the UK media that have long needed addressed. They continue to proven themselves unconcerned with factual reporting and more interested in dramatized storylines that sell papers. Even when proven completely false through their own reversing, there are no repercussions for the transparent deceit.

If anything, incidents like this one will only strengthen Harry’s resolve to keep holding such outlets legally accountable for defamation and invading his family’s privacy. As public distrust in brands like the Daily Mail and The Sun grows, perhaps greater checks will be implemented to curb their excesses. But for now, the saga plays on with the press continuing to attack the Sussexes at every opportunity, facts be damned.

In the end, this latest flip-flop exposes yet again how little has actually changed in how some British newspapers operate, especially concerning the monarchy. They remain more preoccupied with palace intrigue angles than responsible journalism. And the Sussexes seem destined to keep fighting back however they can against the constant character assassinations. Only continued legal action may force the scales of balance to tilt more toward truth and away from rumor.
