Princess Charlotte just loves to dance. The young royal has a wide range of hobbies, but according to her mother, Princess Catherine, there is one talent she truly adores - ballet.

Charlotte's passion for ballet has been revealed by Catherine on multiple occasions now. The Princess of Wales made a surprise visit to the English National Ballet earlier this week, in what was her second public appearance since completing chemotherapy treatment. While no photos were released of her trip to London, Catherine shared a personal message on social media expressing how much she enjoyed the performance of Giselle at Sadler's Wells Theatre on Thursday afternoon.

We understand that as part of her ongoing recovery from cancer treatment, Catherine will undertake outings that bring her joy. With ballet being one of her passions, this trip would have no doubt lifted the princess's spirits. Known for her hands-on parenting style, Catherine shared this rare personal insight into her seven-year-old daughter, saying "My daughter Charlotte loves dancing. She loves ballet and tap - keep up the dancing!"

This isn't the first time we've heard the Princess gush over Charlotte's talents. It has been reported that Charlotte has been taking weekly private ballet lessons at a dance school in South London. Her proud mom is also known to have taken her daughter to watch The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House in central London in the days before Charlotte's birthday.

Just last month, Catherine was spotted with Charlotte at a performance of Cinderella at the Royal Opera House in London. An individual who saw the royal mother-daughter pair tweeted on April 29th, "First visit to the Royal Opera to see Cinderella - wonderful ballet with fabulous performances by a great cast and who should be in the audience but the Princess of Wales with Princess Charlotte and her friends."

A video circulating on social media shows Charlotte on stage holding a wand with friends and playing under confetti at the ballet. The young princess, who wore a dress to the performance, looked every bit the ballerina with her hair up in a neat bun. Both Catherine and William have previously spoken about Charlotte's love of dance, with the princess recalling Charlotte running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet gear.

However, the 8-year-old's passion for ballet feels rather nostalgic. Her late grandmother, Princess Diana, also held a well-known love for the art form. It could very well be a trait that Diana has passed down to Charlotte and her older brother, Prince George, who have both been taking dance lessons since 2018. Diana herself had wanted to be a ballerina, but was sadly told she was too tall.

Family outings to the Royal Opera House seem to be a long-standing tradition, with the mother-daughter duo attending renditions of The Nutcracker and Cinderella in recent years. Thirty years after Diana's own surprise appearance at the Royal Ballet, Princess Charlotte may be unwittingly following in her grandmother's footsteps. Only time will tell where the young princess's extracurricular interests may lead her.

After months of recovery, Catherine recently announced she was ready to take on her royal duties again. The news caused great excitement amongst fans around the world, who were eager to see her back in public life. This week, the Princess of Wales confirmed she intends to host her annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey this December as part of her return.

Despite her health challenges, the princess has expressed her commitment to returning to work once she has fully recovered. This announcement surprised and inspired support from her fans and the public, who applaud her perseverance, patience and one-day-at-a-time approach during this difficult process. For Catherine, her story is one of resilience - life can hit her but it will never beat her.
