While older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte regularly represent the royal family at prestigious occasions like the Wimbledon championships and Euro 2024 football final, four-year-old Prince Louis is less frequently seen at such high-profile events. However, experts suggest there are strategic reasons behind Louis' lower public profile compared to his siblings at this stage.

As the youngest of Prince William and Kate's three children, age is undoubtedly a factor in deciding which children attend which events. However, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams notes there may be another clever rationale for sometimes excluding Louis. He explains that George and Charlotte, being older, are chosen based on their age and status within the line of succession. Meanwhile, balancing Louis' privacy needs with the desire to showcase all three children means he requires a different approach.

Additionally, Fitzwilliams points out the reality that the younger the royal children are, the more likely they are to steal the limelight from the main event with their adorable antics. While the press enjoys this, it risks overshadowing the intended focus. Therefore, limiting four-year-old Louis' appearances allows for a controlled spotlight on the functions themselves rather than any hijinks from the playful youngest Wales child.

This calculation was recently seen in action as Kate delighted royal fans with a rare public appearance at Wimbledon alongside Charlotte, while William and George embarked on a trip to Berlin for England's Euro 2024 final match against Spain. Back in England however, heartwarming pictures on the Cambridges' social media showed cheerful siblings Louis and Charlotte enjoying the football game safely from home.

Despite undergoing cancer treatment, Kate's attendance at Wimbledon signaled only her second public outing of the year as she supported her beloved tennis. Meanwhile, William and George's journey to Berlin revealed their shared passion for football despite England's defeat. So while Louis missed out on these high-profile overseas trips, he was included in family enjoyment of the sporting occasions from the comfort of Anmer Hall.

With the future of the slimmed monarchy uncertain, it remains to be seen how Louis’ role may evolve. Royal author Kate Williams speculated that King Charles III aims to streamline the working royal family, potentially seeing minor royals reside outside palatial residences. Currently, Louis does not primarily live in Buckingham Palace which is undergoing major renovations.

So perhaps in coming years we may witness enchanting sightings of Charlotte and Louis securing a charming abode of their own outside London, much like their parents did in their earlier married years residing at Anmer Hall in Norfolk. For now, four-year-old Louis continues representing the Waleses joyfully at annual family traditions like Trooping the Colour while keeping a lower public profile than his siblings - a strategic choice that balances his privacy needs with showcasing the young Cambridges.
